The challenge focuses on identifying technologies and materials with strong co-development potential, capable of delivering competitive advantages in areas such as:
• Advanced structural materials (next-generation concretes, engineered timber, hybrid solutions, composites, systems optimised for off-site manufacturing).
• Envelope and roofing materials that enhance energy efficiency, durability and the integration of active functions.
• Interior partition solutions that accelerate construction works, improve comfort and reduce waste.
• Innovative materials applicable to both new-build and refurbishment projects (biomaterials, smart materials, CO₂ capture solutions, 3D printing, circular construction solutions).
Altuna y Uria’s objective is to initiate technical collaborations in the short to mid term, through proofs of concept, pilot projects or testing in real construction environments. Successful developments may evolve towards industrial co-development agreements, certification processes and future commercialisation.
The challenge is open to high-potential technological solutions, including those at early or mid Technology Readiness Levels, provided they are supported by a solid team, demonstrate clear differentiation and show a genuine willingness to collaborate with an industrial partner within the construction sector.
